Freehold Township, New Jersey Field Evaluation: K. Hovnanian, College Park Estates Project Summary Full Final Report January 2002 K. Hovnanian Inc. has incorporated numerous innovations into their newest "Idea House" to evaluate how these new technologies affect the building process, cost, and consumer reaction. K. Hovnanian has been building homes for over forty years and has built over 60,000 homes in CA, NJ, FL, NY, PA, VA, TX, NC, and MD. The "Idea House" incorporates:
The "Idea House" was constructed in K. Hovnanian's College Park Estates which is located in Freehold Township, New Jersey. College Park Estates consists of 296 single-family homes ranging from 2,400 sq. ft. up to 3,600 sq. ft. The "Idea House" was built on a concrete slab and consists of over 3500 sq. ft. of living space including a finished attic. K. Hovnanian has shown a commitment to adding value to the consumer while increasing productivity. In addition to the PATH technologies, numerous other innovative products were installed and evaluated by K. Hovnanian. The PATH technologies were monitored and evaluated by the NAHB Research Center to determine the impact and feasibility of these technologies in a production building setting.
