PATH Announces: Concept Home Charleston!

Charleston, S.C., will be the site of the nation's second PATH Concept Home. Bennett Hofford Construction will build the home, which is expected to be completed by fall 2008. The home will be built in Poplar Grove, a 6,000-acre nature conservation community, and provide a model of disaster-resistance, sustainability, flexibility, and cost-effective building.

Top 10 for RemodelersTop Ten for Remodelers: New Release

PATH has released its list of Top Ten Remodeling Technologies for 2007, and there's something to improve almost every area of the home. All of the Top Ten are resource efficient -- read "green" -- and most can dramatically improve a home's energy efficiency.

PATH Partner Project: Mold-Safe Model Home

The Mold-Safe Model Home illustrates the best in moisture-resistant technologies and building practices.The first-ever Mold-Safe Model Home opened on September 14 with an event for the New Hampshire chapter of the American Institute of Architects. A PATH Partner project, the 3,000-square-foot, two-story lakeside home in Chesterfield, N.H., is a showcase for builders, manufacturers, and consumers interested in preventing mold growth in homes. To demonstrate that concept, PATH Manufacturing Partners CertainTeed, Georgia-Pacific, Typar/Fiberweb, Wastewater Alternatives, and Whirlpool joined with PATH Builder Partner Courtlan Construction to incorporate the best in moisture-resistant building technologies and techniques.

Concept Home Omaha Wins Green Building Award

In July, PATH Concept Home received a Green Building Award from the Flatwater Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) after the home was certified by the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Homes Program. The PATH Concept Home Omaha design meets all the requirements for sustainability for multiple programs, including LEED for Homes, ENERGY STAR™, Environments For Living®, and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) Green Building Guidelines.
