With multicultural owners in mind, Liberty Village incorporates unique architecture styles to respond to their specific cultural needs and wants.
Targeted toward multicultural first-time homebuyers, Liberty Village incorporates unique architecture styles to respond to Nebraska’s changing demographics. Builder Brighton Construction researched Lincoln’s distinct populations to determine how a home can be designed to better fit their lifestyles and cultural preferences. The builder has made available several options that can address preferences of different cultures. The 20-unit project, which includes 16 detached single houses and 4 townhouses, maintains affordability with prices ranging from $120,000 to $135,000.
As a PATH field evaluation project, Liberty Village consists of ENERGY STAR ® rated high-efficiency, two-story homes and townhouses. The project features technologies from the first three of the PATH Tech Sets – Resource Efficient Plumbing, Durable Building Envelope, and Efficient HVAC – Forced Air System.
The NAHB Research Center and PATH used Liberty Village to evaluate the PEX piping for the installation time, material cost, and system performance. The Research Center also evaluated foundation anchorage hardware at the site. Results of this research are available for review.
A PATH case study also highlights the experiences of Brighton Construction, as president Fernando Pages Ruiz describes the project’s implementation of techniques for advanced framing from a panel factory.
Additionally, Liberty Village was built with “green” practices to protect and preserve the surrounding natural resources, including using pervious concrete and bio-filtration to preserve the purity of Nebraska water.
